On 19th November 2009 at the Gamrat business office the meeting of management of Gamrat SA with the owner of Hymmen Co. took place. The main purpose of the meeting was an official transfer of double-belt press which was bought from Hymmen Co. by Gamrat. The agreement for further cooperation between Gamrat and Hymmen Co. was also signed during the meeting. Hymmen as a designer and manufacturer of the press – the device for production of demanded pressed floor coverings - has committed to advise and being involved in further device’s modernization. Gamrat S.A. expects experience exchange concerning a new technical solutions and possibilities of reducing costs of the device usage. Cooperation with Hymmen Co. started at the beginning of 2005. After negotiations, in February 2001 the agreement concerning the press delivery was signed. During agreement implementation the concept was continuously developed and improved. Presently its state of the art in high pressing technology. Hymmen Co. is not only the producer of the press but also many of components. The device was designed by Hymmen Co. and its construction is unique. This device, as many others, requires to carry out periodical service and maintenance. Those duties may only be performed by high-skilled personnel. Although Gamrat staff knows the press functioning and has necessary experience in operating the equipment, do not exclude possibility of consultations with Hymmen experts, also in the case of potential breakdown. That is why possibility to use skilled service, which may only be assured by device producer, guarantees proper functioning of this machinery in the future. Nowadays, the floor coverings market is dominated by coverings which are produced by press method because of its high quality, high performance and also production allowing to obtain the variety of products with many designs and colours. Start-up of pressed floor coverings production in Gamrat SA enabled the company to adjust its floor covering offer to the market standards and to meet customers demand. Production of DachGam membranes with parameters complying with the market standards is also possible thanks to that technology. The floor covering collection Norma 43, which is now produced with this new device became very popular, and its sales reaches the levels as for floor coverings which have been much longer on the market (approx a million sqm). Norma 43 is a homogeneous covering which is produced with a press method, and wear layer is uniform in the whole thickness - 2,0mm. It has all necessary documents allowing it to be used in building industry. This floor covering has obtained very good results in wear resistance tests, enabling to classify it in the highest wear resistance level – T group. This parameter is the one which decides of this floor covering final application. The confirmation of the above results we has obtained thanks to two independent tests, which had been made in two foreign, independent institutions – ITC in Czech Republic (acc. to methods included in EN 660-1 standard, based on thickness loss) and in OTI in Austria ( acc. to methods included in EN 660-2 standard, based on volume loss). The floor covering - Norma 43 has non-directional design and is available in 24 colour compositions. Because of wear resistance classification (T group) and a polyurethane layer it is resistant to wear and dirt which are the effects of everyday exploitation. This floor covering is also resistant to microorganisms and can be used in places which require protection from static electricity. It also achieved class DS due to its slip resistance in dry conditions. Above features has decided that this floor covering is suitable for use in public buildings with high-traffic, the rooms where people are present permanently, intensively used light industry facilities and in locations which require protection from static electricity. For this floor covering Gamrat has become a winner of the 2008 Innovation Contest. Norma 43 floor covering is popular on foreign markets and in many European, Asian and American countries. Our partners from those countries gave Norma 43 a very positive opinion about its parameters and patterns. This year Gamrat plans to introduce new products which will be produced by the press i.e. collection of conductive floor coverings Elektra 43 and dissipative products - Centra. A new investment in the press let us to introduce one more product to the market – DachGam roof membrane. The DachGam membranes is new-generation solution for roofing the industrial, warehousing and office facilities and residential buildings, for refurbishment of old roofs (e.g. covered with a roofing paper) and for buildings of an innovative architectural design (pools, blocks of flats). The DachGam is a multilayer material which is obtained from plasticized polyvinyl chloride, and produced thanks to the most modern method – press technology which ensure the high strength and durability of the material. It also has a water vapor diffusivity resistance factor on the highest level among our competitors – 20 000. This parameter is responsible for penetration of material dampness gathered in a building. It’s especially useful during renovations of old roofs covered with roofing paper because the dampness is drained not only by chimneys but also through the proper roof covering. The basic colour of this assortment is grey. This year we introduced to our offer new colours for this assortment. They are: green, white and copper. The first object which was covered with green DachGam membrane was the Shopping Centre Gemini Jasna in Tarnow – roof area is 53 000 m2 . To make our product fulfill the highest market requirements we constantly cooperate with international companies. To chose the suitable pigments and stabilizers we are helped by CIBA Co. which the part of BASF corporation. Our membrane is more and more popular not only on the Polish market but also exported to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine and Slovenia. In 2009 we sold more than million m2 of this product. The next product which may become successful is swimming pool foil FolGam B and BZ which is produced in two versions – reinforced with polyester net or without reinforcement. It is applied to padd the bottom and walls of swimming pools. Currently we are working on extending the colour range of this product. Until now it has been produced in blue colour. In 2010 we plan to introduce new colours: white, green and patterns imitating glaze. To take full advantage of the new press we are leading conversations with international concerns which cooperate with motor industry to start production of car dumping mates Our customers are interested in pressed materials – not only floor coverings but also insulation membranes – that is why Gamrat is going to develop and upgrade the device thanks to which production of new assortments will be possible. Gamrat is going to work on improving the quality of floor coverings and insulating membranes. The participation of Hymmen Co is very important here, because as a designer and producer of the device give us necessary information and technical solutions and will be our advisor during the device modernization and implementation of Gamrat new tasks. To realize it, Gamrat and Hymmen Co. signed the “Development Plan”, the document in which they declared the will of cooperation. This cooperation will be a partnership and will be oriented to development of both partners. In the “Development Plan” Gamrat and Hymmen decided to realize : - device modernization, which help to improve the line efficiency, - expansion and modernization of the press, so that production of new products will be possible, - exchange of the device elements and parts to introduce new technical solutions and to reduce exploitation costs. Such far-going cooperation between the manufacturer of final products and supplier of the equipment is unique on a world’s scale. Usually the customers buy standard devices, and because of production specifics, they turn out not to meet initial expectations. In result there is very often a necessity to make additional adaptations which make it possible to get closer to the assumed standards requirements. Adjusting the device functions is usually carried out by the user of the equipment on its own, which is not a good solution. This time both companies have decided to join their potentials, so that the final results fulfill initial assumptions completely. It makes us sure that in 2010 some new technical solutions will appear in Gamrat SA and surprise not only our customers but also our competitors.
